THE COACHES

At the SwimGym your training is supervised by professional coaches. During our group training in our SWOD sessions as well as during our personal training programs. All our coaches have performed at (inter)national level themselves, either as a swimmer or as a coach. They have many years of experience and knowledge at their disposal, which they will use to improve every swimmer’s technique and general fitness.

FEDOR HES

Fedor is an Olympic coach who guided elite swimmers and Olympic medal winners Marleen Veldhuis, Inge de Bruijn and Johan Kenkhuis during international championships. Nowadays he uses his knowledge of training and experience in coaching for swimmers and triathletes of all levels.

LOES ZANDERINK

As a true breaststroke specialist, Loes competed in the European championships and became national champion and Dutch record holder in the 200 meter breaststroke. Loes has broad experience in coaching, triathletes as well as amateur swimmers. Besides coaching she also teaches kids in preliminary school.

JOHAN KENKHUIS

SwimGym founder and two time Olympian Johan won a silver and bronze medal in the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. He is a freestyle specialist and nowadays also commentator for the Dutch broadcasting during international swimming championships.

SASKIA DE JONGE

Two-time Olympian and freestyle specialist Saskia competed during the Beijing and London Olympic Games. She finished her degree in coaching while performing at the highest level of international swimming and loves to create maximum results for her swimmers during group sessions or personal training.

JELLE DE BOER

Jelle is a very experienced coach and personal trainer, both in swimming as fitness. He has a background in waterpolo where he coached on national level. His enthousiasme for training motivates his swimmers every time they come in and train.

JURJEN WILLEMSEN

Backstroke was Jurjen’s favourite stroke, he competed during European championships and became national champion several times. He got a Bachelor degree in physical education and loves to combine his knowledge and swimming experience to improve our members and personal trainer clients.

TESSA BROUWER

Tessa won a bronze medal in the 100 breaststroke at the European Championships in 2010 and competed at the World Championships in Shanghai a year later. You will always see Tessa smiling and she brings this positive attitude to the pool deck while also working hard. The perfect combination if you ask us!

SÉBAS VAN LITH

A true allrounder with a international swimming career in medley swimming and breaststroke. Sébas held the Dutch national record on the 200 breaststroke for many years and is known for putting in the work every time he hits the pool. He likes to challenge his swimmers to put in the effort in every training to get the most out of your swim.

ANDREA KNEPPERS

Andrea Kneppers swam internationally for years with as highlight competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics with the 4x200 freestyle relay. With this same relay she won the bronze at the 2016 European Championships in London. Andrea studied, swam and coached in the United States and now she uses this knowledge, inexhaustible energy and love for the sport to get the best out of our members.

DENNIS REKVELT

As coach of the youngest Dutch national champion swimmers, Dennis knows exactly how to coach and improve the technique for swimmers of all levels. In 2018 Dennis competed at the Dutch National Championships himself, and, on top of that, he is now a certified personal trainer!

SASKIA POSTMA

The Aruba-native Saskia has a huge passion for swimming and triathlons. Ze used to swim competitively for years and is currently coaching swimmers and (professional) triathletes on their way to crush their goals. Saskia is combining all this with her Masters ‘Sport Science’ at the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam.

MICHAEL STOLT

Michael’s biggest dream was to be a swimcoach and at the SwimGym this passion shines through. Michael is an experienced triathlete himself (he has done two Iron Man’s) and is the clubcoach in Hoofddorp. Are you planning on doing a triathlon?
